Mark Lousberg
President
Mark manages the operations of the business and develops sales opportunities for current and emerging products. He also provides technical support for product selection and application.
With a background in the military, business management and large corporation sales, Mark has brought a fresh perspective and progressive culture change to Sandstrom and its market pursuits.
Russell Burt
Technical Director
Russ oversees the development of products, both current and future, in the Solutions Center Laboratory. He also provides oversight for Quality Control and technical support for product selection and application.
Russ has worked in coating chemistry for nearly 40 years. Many of Sandstrom’s products have been developed by Russ or under his leadership to meet customer needs and solve challenges, including Sandstrom’s low VOC #099.
Cassie Ptak
Plant Manager
Seasoned Plant Manager with 11 years of dedicated experience driving operational excellence, safety, and efficiency. Highly hands-on and results oriented. She specializes in optimizing production schedules, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance, and fostering a collaborative, safe work culture for a tight-knit team. Leveraging over a decade of expertise, she excels at streamlining processes and delivering high-quality products while maintaining strict cost control. Known for being a decisive leader who bridges the gap between daily floor operations and company growth goals
Stephen Huitrado
Safety Director
Stephen directs safe operations, compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Sandstrom’s FOD-free environment.
After serving in the US Navy for 24 years with a background in fire safety and as a safety officer, Stephen retired into civilian life at Sandstrom. His congenial yet unequivocal approach to addressing personnel and safety & compliance issues makes him a great addition to the Sandstrom Team.
Melissa Carlson
Accounts Receivable
Melissa provides all things Accounts Receivable and account balancing at Sandstrom.
With multiple office administrative duties in her background, Melissa applies her experience in a detail-oriented approach on her work to maintain Sandstrom’s high level of accuracy in billing and account processing.
Cristie Jevyak
Customer Service Manager
Cristie provides exceptional customer service in the form of quotes, orders and information services to customers.
Cristie’s positive attitude and love for personal interaction are well suited to assist Sandstrom’s customers for all their supply needs.
Joe Menke
Consultant for Surface PreTreatments, Coatings, and Corrosion Control
Joe Menke began his career at the Rock Island Arsenal in 1966. During his time there he was the chief corrosion control chemist at the US Army Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center (ARDEC). After 50 years at the Arsenal, Joe decided it was time to retire in August of 2016.
We welcomed Joe on board in February of 2017. With 50 plus years of experience, 30 published papers, 3 treatment process patents and numerous professional affiliations, Joe’s in-depth knowledge is a valuable asset for Sandstrom and its network. Purchasing Manager
Sarah oversees all purchasing and raw material inventory operations, ensuring Sandstrom has the high-quality resources necessary to solve our customers’ toughest challenges. In addition to sourcing and supplier management, she directs corporate expense reduction plans.
Sarah joined the team with over seven years of experience in logistics, operations, and technical specification management. Her detail-oriented approach to contract negotiation and supply chain health, combined with her background in industrial material standards, makes her a vital asset in delivering the “on-time and in-full” service our partners have come to expect.
